My Role
Create a team of engineers and design a mobile-first resources directory.
Challenge
During covid-19, there was a severe shortage of oxygen cylinders, medicines, ICUs and injections in India. This lead people in need to look for contacts online who could help them. Scouring social media for contacts, and dialling hundreds of dead ends before finding help. In many cases, be scammed.
In times of such an emergency, there arises a need for a contacts system that is verified and reliable.
Status Quo
People were finding emergency contacts to provide oxygen cylinders, medicines etc. via images in Whatsapp groups and instagram stories apart from word of mouth.
Spending long hours dialling in each number manually before finding the right contact.

Impact
We saw over 10,000 site visitors within the first week of the launch.
This application can bring a lot of value to the people in need by improving the accessibility to verified information.
As a not for profit initiative, the Coverify team will be collaborating with NGOs and volunteer groups to identify the key needs of people and address them to the best of their abilities.
We believed this application could help curb the pandemic in the country.
